Easter was low key around here. We weren't sure why, but the kids didn't seem to have their usual energy level. Tuesday we all visited our doctors to find that Cayden, Alyssa and Mommy all had pink eye. Alyssa and Mommy had strep throat and Cayden had two bad ear infections. This was a LONG week!! Thankfully everyone is better now.

Hey boo-boo!!

We had a great weekend raiding pick-a-nick baskets, harassing the ranger and just plain having fun at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park near Canyon Lake. Joined by several other couples, we went "Camping" Harless style. ie. we stayed in a hotel like lodge while others "roughed it" in travel trailers. :)
Alyssa had fun swimming, riding a bike and playing on the playground. Cayden had tons of little kids to entertain him at all times. We had food prepared over an open flame...and we lived to tell about it. All in all, it was a nice long weekend away.

April and Casey's Surprise Party!!

Chris told me that we were going to be going to dinner with another couple from sunday school to celebrate her birthday and mine together. He had said that both he and the other husband had wanted to do something really special for us but that no one was available due to spring break and the Easter holiday. So.....we showed up at Los Rosas and the girls from our sunday school class were there to surprise us!! It was definitely a surprise - feather boas and tiaras added to the festivities! We were told to hurry and order because there was going to be more surprises to come!!
After dinner we walked out to a limo waiting to pick us up and take us to our next unknown destination. The wait was worth it because we went to The Chocolate Bar - a place I would like to spend forever in. It was filled with every kind of chocolate dessert you could possibly want. I went for the peanut butter cup - wow - it was awesome.
Back out to the limo and on to destination number two - Benjy's Bar. This was a quiet little place where we just hung out and made people wonder why two grown women were walking around in boas and tiara's. Our last stop of the night was at Sky Bar. This is a bar on top of one of the buildings downtown. From the rooftop you can see the downtown skyline. To make things interesting it was salsa night. By the end of this we were all ready for bed - we had little people waiting for us at the crack of dawn the next morning. All in all it was a wonderful surprise and lots of fun!! I would never have done something like this on my own - but I thank Chris for planning a fun night for his old wife!!

Random update time!

Here are some new pics of the kids. Alyssa got to go to a b-day party at the Bounce Factory for Maddi, the daughter of daddy's co-workers. She had so much fun playing with her "friends". Cayden is starting to sprout some teeth!! Not fun when we want him to sleep...and really not fun when he uses you as a teething ring!!
Seriously...could I be any better looking?YAYYY!!! I can sit up on my own!Cayden got tired of waiting for mommy to feed him!!Alyssa playing on the slide!

Spring is here...or is it?

Welcome to Houston. Today the temperatures ranged from 36 to 72. Tomorrow more of the same. Yesterday rain. Today sun. Who knows what tomorrow brings.

Things are going well around here. Cayden has made a few breakthroughs the last few days. Sleeping through the night. Pooping w/out straining!!! Sitting up on his own!!! Little man is growing up.

Alyssa keeps surprising us with new and sweet things. I was upset with her last night for not listening. When I went upstairs to talk to her, she looked at me and said: "sorry i was mad at you daddy." It saddened me to think I had made her mad. Discipline seems so easy when you're watching others do it. I just hope that my kids eventually realize that everything we do is out of love for them.

Anyhow...i just downloaded some new pictures, so here they are for you to enjoy. Hope all is well.

We caught Alyssa sneaking into the pantry to get a snack late one night!!
