Well, its been a while so I'll catch you all up. The holidays have finally passed and life is back to normal. err...uhh...well, as normal as life with two little kids can get!
Alyssa is loving her big girl room. We have routine "discussions" at night concerning the number of stuffed animals, books, toys, etc that are allowed to be in her bed with her. I set the limit on two. She can't count yet, so sometimes it ends up being closer to twenty!! It's very amusing to hear the pitter patter of little feet walking above you when she's supposed to be asleep. A quick yell upstairs about being in bed and we hear running back to the bed!! Overall she's doing really well, although she still ends up in all sorts of odd positions for sleep.
Cayden is doing wonderful. He's growing and getting more and more animated every day. The only problem is that he's a loud talker...and he likes to stay up for Letterman. I'm too old for Letterman. April has started him on some baby foods recently and he's become very aware of what's going on around him, particularly in the kitchen! I'm pretty sure he gets that from me!
April is still working hard trying to win mother of the year. I think she's got it in the bag. The kids are so different that it becomes challenging to meet both of their needs at the same time, but she does it with a gracefulness that I could not possibly fathom. I'm grateful to have her for that job...it is not something I could do.
I'm keeping busy with work and trying to rehab my knee. The doctor was pleased with my progress since my last appointment. He said that despite tearing so many things, nothing was completely destroyed. As a result, he feels that with exercise and stretching I should be able to get greater than 90% strength and flexibility within a few months. If I can achieve that, he said I could possibly be playing soccer again this year. Cross your fingers.
Here are some other pics of the kids that crack me up...
