Cayden's First Birthday Party!

Can you believe it? Cayden is one already. He had a birthday party last weekend and got to play in the sand, swim, and eat lots of cake!!

Jamaican Getaway!

Mommy and Daddy took a much needed vacation this past week to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. We went to Breezes Runaway Bay in Jamaica and spent a week in all-inclusive luxary! No food to cook, no rooms to clean, no diapers to change. Other than really missing our babies, it was a great week of rest and relaxation.

Special thanks to Ellie & Grandpa and MawMaw and PawPaw for watching the kids for us!! We know they had a blast!! In fact, Cayden cried when he saw us. :( Not tears of joy either.

Surprise, surprise. We spent last weekend birthday party hopping. We never do that! :) Alyssa and Cayden love it...lots of cake and ice cream as part of their weekend diets!

This weekend we went to one party where the surprise guest was Diego. If you have little kids, you know who this is. If you don't have kids...you'll learn soon enough.

At our second party, we got to ride horses and go on a hayride!

We went to an ice cream social at church this week. Alyssa was so excited to see her friends from sunday school that she didn't even care to finish her ice cream!

This is one of the pictures April took of Cayden in his "fun to be one" shirt. That's right. Cayden is almost 1. :( Our baby is growing up too fast.

Cayden is starting to try and talk a lot lately. He has discovered the word "ball" and any time one is near, he wants it!!

Well, I did it again

I blew my knee AGAIN. You can't really tell in the picture, but my left knee is about twice the size of my right. I was playing softball and leaned over to get a grounder. It buckled underneath me. Popped a few times. There goes the idea of getting away without having surgery. :(

Happy Fourth of July!

We started our day at the neighborhood pool for a little family swim. After baths, we got the kids all dressed up in their July 4th clothes and went to the Kettle's house for a bbq. MMMM...wings, burgers and dogs. An American tradition. A little before dark, some of us went to Tomball to watch the fireworks show. Alyssa and Cayden had a blast playing with their friends and watching the fireworks.

Waiting patiently for the "boomies" to begin! The kids laughed and screamed everytime the fireworks went off. They called them "boomies" which sounded like something else. All the adults couldn't decide if we should laugh, or ask them to call the fireworks something else!!

On the way home, Alyssa asked if she could rest her eyes for a minute. Just a few seconds later this picture was taken!! She had a busy day!!

Cayden didn't last very long either!!

Summer Fun

April and the kids have been getting a bit more active over the last few weeks! This week they met one of her friends at Pump it Up, an indoor bounce house. Then they went to Noah's Ark Pool at a local church with MawMaw. Finally, they went to see Charlotte's Web at the Studio Movie Grill.
Thanks Mommy for doing so much fun stuff with the kids...and reminding me why I need to win the lotto and retire! :)
