Our good friends Kyle and Melanie invited us up to Georgetown for the Red Poppy Festival this weekend. We all had a great time visiting them and hanging out. The weather worked out perfectly for us. We got there Friday evening and Kyle and Melanie had fajitas and all the trimmings. Alyssa had a blast running up and down their backyard and getting loved on by their puppies.
Saturday morning we got up and went to the festival. The day started with a parade complete with a marching band, horses, clowns, and funny old men in little cars! After the parade we walked around and looked at all the arts and crafts and different booths. We ate really healthy foods like corn dogs, texas tators, etc.
Kyle's cousin was Miss Georgetown, so after watching her perform a song we went back to get cleaned up and rested up for the evening. We had dinner on the balcony of this really great italian restaurant. After dinner we went to the main stage area and set up some lawn chairs to hear Two Tons of Steel, a Texas Country group.
We had a late breakfast this morning at Monument Cafe where we ate some of the biggest, and best, pancakes I've had in a long time!
Alyssa and Cayden had so much fun hanging out with Kyle and Melanie. We can't wait to see them again...thanks for inviting us!!
